Margaret and I spent a lovely day in North West River yesterday, speaking with elders and putting up Them Days posters around town. As usual, North West River hospitality was on full display and we left with full bellies and tours of the Interpretation Centre and the Heritage Museum under our belts.
(The “On the Labrador” photo exhibit by Arnold Zageris is nearing the end of its run at the Interpretation Centre, so if you haven’t yet seen his amazing photography, get out there this week!)
We managed to get three interviews completed yesterday, and we had many other names passed on to us as good subjects for future interviews. If you know anybody who might be interested in sharing their knowledge and history with us, as always, let us know! Even if they don’t live in the Goose Bay area, it’s good to know who to speak with when travelling around Labrador!
