How was your Christmas? Mine was very nice. Wow can you believe that 2009 is almost over already? Another year has come and gone. Well the newest issue is out 33.4, and I must say it is a very nice book very interesting. If you don’t already have it make sure to drop in and get one. Also dont forget your Them Days calendar there are only two days left before it is time to put it up!
Well there isnt much new here there are only a couple of binders left to do before it is time to finally release the digitalized copy of the finding aids. I am so excited about that, it is going to be really nice to be able to do all of your research from the comforts of your own home. I gave myself until the end of January to have it complete so we are hoping to have it all ready soon after I’m finished.
Just another reminder that our office will be closed at 12:00pm tomorrow on December 31, 2009 and will reopen on January 4th 2010. Have a safe and Happy New Years from all of us here at Them Days.
The Staff and Board of Them Days would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.
…and for those of you planning to stop by and pick up a post-Christmas gift (it happens), we will reopen Tuesday, December 29 at 8:30 as usual!
P.S. Your subscriptions are in the mail and the new magazine is out in local stores now! (Other outlets will take a bit longer, as they need to go through the mail.)
We’ve been busy working on the archive this week. We’re updating all the periodicals and the vertical files and re-organizing materials in the archive. It’s a big project and I’m glad to help out with it. It’s always a nice learning experience when I get to work on archival material.
The latest issue has yet to arrive, and we will keep you updated when it does. If you really need your Them Days fix soon, we’ve got our 98 for $98 gift set. We’ve also got 5 for $5, 10 for $10 and 2008 series for $23 gift sets – I heard they make great stocking stuffers 😉
I’ve included some pictures of the office since some of you may not have seen it since it’s renovation. We’ve still got quite a bit of sorting to do before we’re completely settled into the new building.
Also, Kelly, Amanda and Aimee have all fallen ill this week. It’s been Clorox wipes and hand washing for us the past few days. Get better soon!

On Saturday we had another table at a local craft fair – this one in support of the SPCA. As usual, we got to meet a lot of people! But first, here’s a photo from Friday afternoon when we decided to all model Them Days regatta team t-shirts.
Look at us, all coordinated!
Go team Them Days! (Can you believe that we now have FOUR people in the office?! It’s great!)
And now, for a couple of photos from the sale.
Here we are, selling things...won't you buy from us? (L to R: Kelly, Amanda and Aimee)
Our table...lots of stuff to look at (and buy!)
Lots of work to be done in the archive this month! That’s what’s keeping us busy right now…around this time of year, people are generally too busy to do interviews and we’re just waiting for the magazine to get back from the printers. So now’s when we get busy in the archive! I’m going through boxes of stuff that have been here since before I started, and I’m feeling like Ebeneezer Scrooge, except my ghost is the Ghost of Procrastination Past. Just going through these boxes is teaching everybody a lesson: don’t put anything off, ever!
