Today marks Them Days’ 36th anniversary. No big celebrations to report, but I couldn’t let the day go by without a blog entry to at least note it!
Do you think the magazines are celebrating at night, like little elves having a party? I’m picturing like the Cobbler and the Elves, that old fairy tale. Well, except the elves were working, not partying, but you get the idea.
On a more serious note though, do you think that when Them Days started on March 15, 1975, that the people involved knew we’d still be here today, going strong and still publishing? I mean, I’m sure they hoped it was the case, but the early years were fraught with hard times and uncertainty. Thankfully we’re past that, but I still have a hard time imagining what we’re going to be like in 36 years! Maybe we’ll be super fancy and have a big endowment and have a staff of more than two! (But still keeping with our down-to-earth Labrador style, of course.) A girl can dream, can’t she?
Here’s to another 36 years, Them Days!
