This week is National Volunteer Week, so I’d like to say a special thank you to all the volunteers who have helped us out at Them Days over the past year! In 2010 alone, we had over 1500 volunteer hours contributed to Them Days. That’s from Katimavik volunteers, Board members, and from general volunteers in the community. That’s a lot of support!
Them Days wouldn’t be here today without volunteers. In the beginning and throughout the 36 years we’ve been around, volunteers have kept it going, even when we didn’t have funding. Thankfully, we’re more stable than that now, but our volunteers still play a very important role in our day-to-day functioning. There’s only so much work that two employees and temporary summer students can do! The rest is all thanks to volunteers.
So for those volunteers who have helped us out in the past and in more recent memory, thank you, thank you, thank you. Your work means so much to me, and so much to our organization. We couldn’t do it without you!
P.S. If you are interested in volunteering with Them Days, I highly recommend it! And if you’re a high school student looking for ways to earn your volunteer hours…well, I have work for you! 🙂
