themdays.com undergoing some work

We’re in the midst of changing servers, so over the next few days, there may be some issues reaching themdays.com (it is likely that these changes will take place after Jan. 1, so it’s probably good for now.

Happy New Year!!

Christmas week!

Today is the start of an odd work week, for us and probably for a lot of people. We’re working today, half of tomorrow, and then off for Christmas Day (Wednesday) and Boxing Day (Thursday), then back to work on Friday! So with the closure of my daughter’s daycare for the holidays, that means I have a little helper at work today.

I should set her to dusting or something again…thankfully, she’s pretty content to go between sitting on my lap and watching me type, and lying on the floor playing with her toys. That’s all you can ask of a two-year-old! 🙂

We’ve decorated the office for Christmas a bit..

Hope you’re having a good Monday, and if you still need to buy things for Christmas (I need to pick up stocking stuffers) stop by the office and get the new issue of Them Days! (or anything else you want, lol!)

2014 Calendar Sold Out (at least, here at our office)

Image

Last week, I had a meeting with some people here at the office. While they were waiting for me to finish a transaction with a customer on the phone, they were looking around the shop. One of the ladies picked up a calendar, thought “Ooh, I should get this for Mom,” and put it back down as she looked at other things. After all, there were four calendars there and the two women were the only people in the building with me. It’s not like we’re an American Wal-Mart on Black Friday and you have to snap up what you want when you see it.

Well, wouldn’t you know it–in swept a new customer who picked up all four calendars and brought them straight to the office for check out (she knew what she wanted!). When she left, I announced to my meeting-mates “Wow! She just bought the last of the calendars! We’re now officially sold out!” One of them replied, “Really?! No more?  I was just about to buy one! You snooze, you lose, I guess!”

I assured her that there were more still around…so, if you find yourself in the same predicament (“I want to buy a Them Days calendar but I don’t know where to find them!”) here’s a list of the retailers who carried them this year:

North Coast

Blake’s Store – Rigolet
Hayne’s Store – Nain
Labrador Investments – Makkovik
Sheppard’s Variety – Postville

Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Bennett’s Ultramar
Dorothy’s Crafts and Sewing
Greenleaf
Hamilton Drugs
Northern Lights Ltd.
NorthMart
Terrington Cooperative
Warr’s Pharmacy

South Coast

B.W. Powell – Charlottetown
Northern – Cartwright
Mona’s Place – Lodge Bay

Labrador Straits

BNL Enterprises – Red Bay

Labrador West

Avalon Superette – Labrador City
Gallery Pharmacy – Labrador City

No guarantees that they’re still at those places (I know I saw them at Co-op the other night, though), but that’s where they went this year. Good luck with your Christmas shopping!

Twins!

I got one Christmas present a little early this year…a very, very warm Snow Goose/Canada Goose parka. When Daphne came into the office for the first time after her much-deserved and much-needed vacation, I said, “look at my new coat!” She said, “That’s the same as mine!”

And sure enough, it is!

Twins!

Them Days Winter Uniform

It’s funny…sometimes at the office, we do come wearing the same outfit (or very similar ones) sometimes. But never as consistently as we will from now on!

Sparkly Building!

Sparkly Building!

It’s the first working day of December, and when I walked up to the office this morning, I was greeting by a rather sparkly building. It was covered in frost, and glimmering in the warm morning sun.

Keep warm, everyone!
